Date Night Ideas Around Augusta and Aiken

A good date night starts with picking where to go. This list pulls together four places we have featured across the CSRA, each a different kind of evening, so you can match the plan to the mood instead of circling the same few options.

All four are local, come from our own features, and are places we would send a friend without hesitation.

Chef JK Korean BBQ

Chef JK is one of our favorite spots in the CSRA. They serve all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ along with combos and a la carte options, with a big selection of meats plus all the kimchi and banchan that make the meal even better. It made this list because it works for the kind of date where you take your time: the table fills up, the plates keep coming, and nobody is watching the clock. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM and closed Sunday, on Washington Road in Evans.

Park Ave Oyster Bar

Park Ave Oyster Bar is a good spot for a night when the weather is right for eating outside. The patio is relaxed, and the menu runs from fresh boutique oysters and calamari to plenty of non-seafood dishes, with lots of gluten-free options for anyone who needs them. Order an Aperol Spritz, share the oysters, and let the evening slow down a little. It is on Park Avenue in downtown Aiken.

Cavalier’s Coffeehouse

Not every date needs a full dinner reservation. Cavalier’s works for coffee, for cocktails, or for a relaxed meetup that can be as short or as long as you want, and there is live music. There is courtyard seating when the weather cooperates and indoor seating when it does not, so the plan holds either way. It works early in the evening or as the last stop of the night, on Georgia Avenue in North Augusta.

Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art

For a date that is a little different, the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art is a contemporary art gallery and hands-on art school inside Ware’s Folly, a historic home built in 1818. The gallery is open to the public and free to visit during regular hours, Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, which makes it an easy first stop before dinner if you can both slip out early. The institute also runs hands-on classes and workshops through the year, so you can take a class together. You will find it on Telfair Street in downtown Augusta.
