One of the largest half-distance triathlons in North America runs straight through downtown Augusta. Athletes swim 1.2 miles downstream in the Savannah River, ride 56 miles out through rural Georgia, and finish with a 13.1-mile loop through the historic downtown and along the Riverwalk.
Sunday, September 27, 2026. Race window 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. The finish area and race village are at the Augusta Common on Reynolds Street.
Free to watch, and worth watching even if you know nobody racing. Broad Street and the Riverwalk fill up for most of the morning.
Worth knowing if you are not going: downtown road closures reshape traffic for the whole day. Check the City of Augusta closer to the date for the closure map.
